AT&T Universal Credit Cards 2019

NOTE: AT&T Universal Cards are no longer offered as of June 2015.

AT&T offers two credit cards in partnership with Citibank that offer decent rewards. Below we offer an overview / review of each card:

The AT&T Universal Savings Platinum Card gives you a rebate on your card purchases of “up to” 1.5%, meaning you won’t get 1.5% on everything, so your total rebate can not actually get to 1.5%.

Here’s the formula: “For the first $250.00 in purchases you make on your Card Account (per month), you will earn 0.5% of that amount; If you make purchases on your Card Account of between $250.01 and $750.00, you will earn 1% of that amount; If you make purchases on your Card Account over $750.01, you will earn 1.5% of that amount.” On the upside, you don’t have to do anything to get the cash back — it is credited to your account automatically.

We are not sure why this is an AT&T credit card, because it doesn’t seem to offer any AT&T-specific rewards.

There is no annual fee, and the interest rate may be 13.99%, 18.99%, or 23.99%. You can apply online.

The AT&T Universal Savings & Rewards Card offers rewards two ways:

You get a discount on AT&T purchases — 10% off of AT&T purchases for the first year you have the card, then 5% off of AT&T purchases after that.

All non-AT&T purchases earn one Citibank “ThankYou” point per dollar — ThankYou points can be accumulated and used for gift cards and other rewards. You can get a bonus of 10,000 ThankYou points if you spend at least $500 with the card in first 3 months you have it.

There is no annual fee, and the interest rate may be 13.99%, 18.99%, or 23.99%. You’ll find an online application here.
